| ====== Nether Portals ====== | |
| |
| Nether portals were formed when the gods whose main dominions ruled over the Nether came together and formed a deal/pact with Flourish. The deal was a very early sign of friendship among the gods, stating that their two realms could be freely connected and people could travel between them no matter what. Nether portals are a reminder to all of Estrea's deities as one of the earliest signs of cooperation among gods, and not a power struggle against one another. If this ancient deal were to be broken, the portals would corrupt; an example being rot/radioactivity/extreme heat coming creeping through the portal. | |

| Nether portals require a lot of energy, as it is bridging two dimensions together. This energy may seem simple enough to generate, using the outline of obsidian, a resource found in both dimensions, and fire, however it is a little deeper then that. If a Nether portal is simply lit randomly in a random area, it will light, but over time all the plants/things that generate natural energy will die and wither away. The longer a Nether portal like that stays lit, the more it drains from an area. The best ways to light a long-term or permanent portal is to plant an ABUNDANCE of greenery, nature, plants, and anything that produces natural energy nearby to create a sustainable power source. Nether portals are also much easier to open and create in the Nether as they may also rely on thermal energy. | |

| The easiest way to generate energy to light a portal in the Overworld was discovered by the GUILD. They found that by using kinetic energy, it would generate enough power to open the portal without the need for nature's magic. Even fairly small kinetic energy machines can generate enough energy to open and maintain a portal. The GUILD kept this method a secret as best they could, but it would eventually get out causing Nether portals to become much more accessible and simple for anyone with Create parts to use. The GUILD responded to this by cracking down on portal usage and making it illegal to have a personal portal. | |

| Another effect of this method was the surplus of people who began exploring the Nether (which was previously only explored by dedicated followers, adventurers, and champions), causing many more settlements to pop up around the dimension. However after portals were made illegal, many of these settlements turned to ruin, some were left to rot, and some were repurposed into villages for piglins. Some people even got trapped inside and had to live there forever, for if a portal was made Nether-side, it would create one in the Overworld where the GUILD would detect the large energy source and immediately shut it down. | |
