Adoption Event

The Adoption Event marked the beginning of lore on the SQDSMP following a trial period of one week for people to test bugs, mods, and gather basic resources.

• A group of children ('critters') woke up in a beautiful Garden in the middle of a wasteland. They were provided with backpacks including a sleeping bag, food, a plushie, a note, and an enchanted token. A motherly and benevolent voice spoke with them, informing the critters that they were to be adopted today and would soon meet their new parents. They were given some time to explore the garden, meet one another, and process the coming event.
• A group of adults ('cubitos') were teleported into the Garden shortly after, shocked and confused. The voice told them they were chosen to adopt children as she had been watching them and marked them responsible, trustworthy, good parents. They were each given corresponding tokens to match with the children they were assigned to.
• Awkwardly, the new parents found their assigned child, some with co-parents, and spoke in the Garden for some time before one by one disappearing to build homes or show their children around the homes they already had.
• Some cubitos weren't present for the event and the children were told they can stay in the Garden until they appear. Some critters weren't present and the parents were told that their child would be introduced to them soon.
• Throughout the whole event, a GUILD worker, Vincent, supervised. Some participants noticed and met a friendly glare.

• Some parent/child groups did not meet until long after the event, some through a note from Flourish, and some organised by the GUILD.
• Adoption certificates were sent out by both parties some time after.
